JC Standring

Standring Working in Hollywood

JC Standring relocated to the Los Angeles area just over a year ago.  “I’m optimitistic and gainfully employed. I have an apartment, friends and a life in sunny California,” Standring says.  And, he is quick to point out, “I’m paying back my student loans.”

A 2011 completer of the Theater Arts Academy at Tallmadge High School, JC attended The University of Akron for a year, where he accessed nine hours of articulated credit. After connecting with theater classmate Eric Vanderpool, JC transferred to the Savannah College of Art and Design, where he graduated with a degree in film and a minor in acting in 2015.

Currently, JC is an editor at Tastemade, a wildly successful company that produces food and travel videos for the web, Apple TV, Facebook and Snapchat. He also acts in film projects and does freelance editing.

After two years at Cuyahoga Falls High School, JC attended Schnee Learning Center, “where the staff made me fell at home. But, I wouldn’t be where I am today without the Theater Arts Academy,” he says. “David Obney has been a mentor and continues to be a supportive figure in my life, and Keith Bee was a fantastic teacher and role model.”
