CTE Completer Returns to Teach Cosmetology at Roosevelt
Danielle Wardell, a completer of Cosmetology College Tech Prep, has returned to teach at
Roosevelt High School “right where it all started.” This fall, Danielle joined her former teacher Sandi Melucci and is teaching Cosmetology Level II.
A 2005 Stow-Munroe Falls graduate, Danielle says her plan was to get her cosmetology license in high school and then use that expertise to pay for college. Both her mother and grandmother were hair stylists, so Danielle says she knew that cosmetology was “a skill I could always utilize.”
After supporting herself by working at Hair Professionals in Hudson, she graduated from The
University of Akron in 2010 with a Spanish Education major. Most recently, Danielle taught Spanish to 800 fifth and sixth graders at Lakeview Elementary in Stow.
“I have fantastic Cosmetology students,” she says. “I am super impressed with their skill levels, and many of them are doing externships at area salons.” She adds, “And, the remodeled cosmetology lab looks amazing and so professional.”
