Program Description
The Academy of Finance Careers (AFC) is a business program for students interested in careers in Finance, Accounting, or Business.  Students explore economics, entrepreneurship, business law, savings/investing, financial planning, credit, insurance/risk management, corporate and financial accounting, all while using industry standard software. Students learn entrepreneurship and participate in a Shark Tank event. They are members of the Business Professionals of America (BPA) club where they prepare solutions to real-world business cases.  Students operate a branch of New Horizons Federal Credit Union, housed at Tallmadge High School, which employs students to work, affording a practical learning experience.  Level II students participate in paid micro-internships to learn and professionally grow in the Finance field.
