Health Careers Program Fueled Completer’s Drive towards Career in Veterinary Medicine
Dr. Jenni Heid, DVM, graduated from Stow-Munroe Falls High School and completed the Health Careers Education in 2014 prior to earning her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Hiram University and most recently, her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2022.
Dr. Heid shares that she feels that the Health Careers Technologies program provided her with a great start to her medical education journey by allowing her to engage with medical professionals while learning basic medical terminology and anatomy and physiology. Although much of the program was “human-focused,” Jenni shares that her instructor worked hard to integrate the diverse interests among the students and provided information on a variety of different careers in medicine.
Dr. Heid is currently working as a veterinary intern (exotic companion animal focus) at Neel Veterinary Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
